- Don't expect tropical style beaches on Bali;
- The best way to travel around Bali / Lombok is by motorbike (easy to rent at the guesthouse/hotel where you are staying) and the roads are perfect almost everywhere;
- The tide is really strong in Lombok, so the best time to go on the beaches is after 2pm when the tide is low.
